COY Employment and Job Readiness Program

We are thrilled to announce the new COY Employment and Job Readiness Program. It is a needed initiative to help people improve their skills and find viable jobs. Our goal is to put people back to work, irrespective of their backgrounds. It provides training and skills-development opportunities for those who want to enter or re-enter the workforce, as well as those who are currently employed but struggling with a lack of opportunity.

Through this program, job seekers will be able to get a clearer picture of their strengths and weaknesses in order to make informed decisions about their careers. Participants will also have access to job opportunities from different companies with different employment models that align with their skillsets.

We Help Adults Struggling with Employment Barriers

Achieving and maintaining employment is a key component in a person’s ability to thrive.

Many adults face barriers that may prevent them from obtaining and retaining jobs. These barriers may include lack of education, physical or mental health challenges, criminal records, housing instability or other legal barriers.

Our program provides strategies for adults struggling with employment barriers who are either looking for work or who want to keep their jobs.

Helping the Unemployed and Underemployed

The program was created to address the unemployment and underemployment that is especially prevalent among our young people, especially those from low-income communities.

The program is implemented in the Minneapolis and surrounding neighborhoods and will provide job readiness training and employment opportunities for the youth and young adults.

The benefits of this program are threefold: it will provide job readiness training, employment opportunities and a chance for participants to learn more about their rights as workers.
